My K2 has suddenly* developed a strange problem, The ALC seems to be pegged on receive, with a corresponding loss of sensitivity, I can still hear strong signals. If I key the rig, the ALC is brought low, sensitivity is restored (i.e. the background noise resumes to a normal level) for about a second, then the ALC kicks in and goes back to it's full on state.
Oddly, I get a LOW BATT message on the display as well even though the control board jumper is fine, as well as the supply voltage. Another odd issue is that the internal meter is fails to read the supply voltage, showing 0.00 volts.
Anybody else have this problem in the past? Any hints would be appreciated.
*I have about 500 QSO's on this radio, the problem just started with todays power up.
