All,
I have just completed K2 basic and it works fine except for the following question:
The manual states the following about the displayed frequency on CW :
" the frequency shown on the LCD takes into account an offset equal to your sidetone pitch"
(manual p 100)
Does this mean that if an operator is transmitting CW on a carrier frequency of, say, 14100.000 KHZ the display will in fact read 14099.500 (in the case of a 500 Hz sidetone)? Or is the readout higher than the carrier by 500 Hz ( 14100.500 ).
I am having difficulty setting up the filters - I can never get CWr and CW to be the same tone, or sometimes CW or CWr is outside the passband.
The first thing I need to understand is if the frequency readout is carrier or offset?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
John
