I soldered up the cable to connect the K2 to the computer for logging
and control. What do I need to do from here to get the computer/rig to send CW during a contest? I am currently using N3FJP's programs, and I plan on moving to N1MM. I get the impression I need a separate cable between the LPT port and the paddle input? -- David Wilburn [hidden email] K4DGW K2 S/N 5982 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. You will need a separate cable between LPT port
and Key-in to the K2. Set INP to Hand. Wire your favorite keyer output in parallel with the line into the K2 Key-in. de Joe, aa4nn ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Wilburn" <[hidden email]> To: "elecraft" <[hidden email]> Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2007 3:27 PM Subject: [Elecraft] K2 CW Interface >I soldered up the cable to connect the K2 to the computer for logging > and control. Details can be found various places, notably http://pages.cthome.net/n1mm/html/English/Interfacing.htm I went through this exercise last summer; if you look at http://www.mail-archive.com/elecraft@.../msg38016.html you'll find the beginning of the thread I started then (not terribly interesting in itself, but has a few links of use). I don't care to switch INP when using various input devices, so I always wire tip and ring together on things like this (and straight keys and bugs). I made up a little box that has several jacks in parallel, going to the required diodes and a paddle input - so I can (and do) have the paddles, SK and computer keying all hooked up at the same time. (See http://www.mail-archive.com/elecraft@.../msg38462.html) (I know that some folks have reported problems with the K2's sensing of tip/ring for non-paddle keying, but I've never experienced it.) 73 de chris K6DBG _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
