Cameron,
Check the locations of the other 8 pin ICs to be certain their placement
is correct - in other words, read the numbers printed on the component
and compare with the location/parts list.
What I am saying is that Elecraft has never had a shortage of ICs, or an
incorrect count in my 13 years of experience with them (and I have
assembled a LOT of kits for customers). But that does not say that
mistakes cannot happen - but the most likely is that you mounted the
LM6482 somewhere else. Check the IC labels carefully with a magnifier
and a good light.
Once you satisfy yourself that you were shorted an LM6486 and have an
extra 25LC320, email
[hidden email] and request an LM6486. With your
K2 serial number and order date, there should be no question about
sending one to you.
