I am a bit reluctant to post this in case it is a well worn topic - but I have searched the archive & scratched my head awhile, so here goes :
My K2 (Rev B) CALFIL/display worked OK when last run a while ago. This time, after pressing BAND "minus" and seeing the expected DAC code, pressing display showed all zeroes rather than the BFO frequency. I then pressed BAND "plus" just to see what happened, and the display very briefly showed (probably) the BFO frequency before settling on all zeroes. The effect was too fast to read. This sequence is repeatable, including following power offs & ons. I have not tried a system reset - that has to be the last resort ! In all other respects the rig is fine... 73 George G4TPV This e-mail and any attachment may contain confidential and/or privileged information. George,
Intermittent operation like that would suggest something is loose. The most likely place is at the housing for the counter probe. Many builders have trouble inserting the crimp pins into the housing and end up distorting the pins so the good contact becomes quite "iffy". 73, Don W3FPR On 1/14/2011 3:11 AM, JONES, George wrote: > I am a bit reluctant to post this in case it is a well worn topic - but I have searched the archive& scratched my head awhile, so here goes : > > My K2 (Rev B) CALFIL/display worked OK when last run a while ago. > This time, after pressing BAND "minus" and seeing the expected DAC code, pressing display > showed all zeroes rather than the BFO frequency.
