K2, Freq readout

pc5m, Carel
Thanks to all who responded to my question.

Seems that something strange is going on with my K2 (-:
Reading through the responses it strengthened my feeling I did the procedure
(as described by Wayne, n6kr getting an exact difference of 10.000 MHz
between tp1 and tp2) correct. But my readout is still approx 1 KHz off.

Will give it another go (-:

73's,

Carel.

Carel,

You8 did not specify, so I must ask -- did you alos do CAL FIL before you
checked the result.  It is necessary that you do both CAL PLL and CAL FIL
(for each BFO) after adjusting the refcerence oscillator.

Don,
That may be part of the problem.  I did the CAL FIL and then the CAL
PLL failed.  Since I had just started setting this up I felt I wouldn't lose
much by powering up with 4, 5, and 6 depressed abd haven't gone back to do
it again.  This may be why the frequency doesn't change (no lookup tables).

RE: K2, Freq readout

Don Wilhelm-3
John,

One should do CAL PLL first and then do CAL FIL, but your 40 meter problem will prevent you from doing CAL PLL anyway - see your query about that for more help.
