K2 LCD Diffuser

Hello!
I am building the K2, and have reached the point where
I am installing the LCD Backlight diffuser...the leads
are about 1/8 of an inch long.  I am supposed to put
two spacers under the diffuser, and then solder it in
place...has anyone else had the problem of leads too
short?  What is the solution to this...did Elecraft
send out a few with too short of leads?  Am I missing
something?
