K2: MARS Frequency Access?

Kenneth Hale
I do not know about the K2 but I do have a K3 that I am using for MARS
operations.  There is a software program that you run to unblock the radio
so that it will work for MOST MARS frequencies.  BUT there is a range in the
8.2 MHz region that you can not use because of a trap that they are
protecting.  I just use my backup radio when I need one of those
frequencies.

8.1[mumble] MHz is the K3's first IF.  There's a range around it that
the K3 can't receive.  Upconversion to 70+ MHz was Japan's solution to this.
