Thanks to all who replied to my original question on mics, I am much more well informed as to how to proceed.
-Vic- you are correct Proset Plus will plug directly in to back, but doing that without Heil adapter, I can't use the foot switch as far as I can see.
-Despite having two Heil mics, have decided for the $, I can't afford not to get the CM-500.

The Pro-set Plus connects directly to the rear inputs. You don't use an adapter; you just
plug the two small phone plugs directly into the appropriate back-panel jacks.
