K2 Mode setting

Is the mode setting for each band/frequency on the K2. As an example I have
40 meters
in vfo b with the mode set to C. (all of my cw frequencies are stored in
vfo B.)
If I switch to 40 meter ssb, via the A/B switch, the mode comes up with C
even though I was previously on LSB.
