Issac,
Be certain that auto-detect is turned on. If it is off, behavior will be exactly as you describe. Enter the menu for INP, press EDIT and then tap the DISPLAY button to toggle ADET - if you tap DISPLAY once and see ADET ON, you will know that it had been set to OFF, Multiple taps of DISPLAY will toggle ADET on and off. 73, Don W3FPR TL_Netvision wrote: >> Hello all >> I have my paddle & a computer interface for keying CW connected as per >> the manual (incl 2 diodes, cathodes at the key-line, anodes at dit & >> dah terminals). >> The interface is a simple switch (opto coupler 4N37) driven by DTR >> (RTS is in use by KIO2). >> >> The problem is that I can't get proper keying from the computer unless >> the K2 is put in "Inp=Hand" mode. >> Doing that the paddle is useless(only one paddle is active). >> Setting back to padln - the paddle works great but than keying from >> the computer is as if pressing both dit & dah paddles. Isaac,
You may look at these links to see if they might help. Something about autodetect diodes and optocouplers together one needs to be more careful which components to use so that the PIC in the K2 ends up seeing the right signaling. http://www.ac6rm.net/mailarchive/html/elecraft-list/2005-05/msg00266.html http://www.ac6rm.net/mailarchive/html/elecraft-list/2005-05/msg00274.html -Ben K1NT _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hello
Thanks for all who advised. Problem is now solved. Had to use RTS and not DTR, and also changed the 1n4148 diodes to 1n5288 (sk). 73, Isaac _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
