K2 QRO & QRP

Mike Markowski
I'm aware of the mod to house the 100 W amp externally, but am thinking
this might not be what I'm looking for.  For the handfull of times each
year when I run QRP away from home it'd be nice to have the internal
battery and 20W antenna tuner.  When I'm operating at home, which is by
far most of the time, I'd use the 100 W stage.

So the obvious solution seems to be to buy battery, tuner & amp.  After
looking through the KAP100 manual, p. 20 in particular, I believe all
I'd have to do is swap the QRO cover with amp for the QRP cover with
battery and tuner.  Is that all there is to it?  Is there anything else
I should be aware of regarding dropping back to QRP, especially the
effects of the (p. 54 KAP100 manual) RS-232 control board modifications?

Thanks,

You've got it right....just swap lids, no extra parts to order....
