5601 arrived today at 1830 UTC 20Jul2006, a day
earlier than UPS estimated, and is alive and well.
Looks absolutely great.
So far have only tested the KIO2, communicated with
HamRadioDeluxe FB.
I noticed there's a small hole on the back labeled
GND, but nothing coming out of it to attach a ground
wire to. Appears you need the internal ATU to get the
GND binding post. How do those of you w/o the internal
ATU ground the rig? My 1st thought would be to use an
appropriately sized screw, with lock washer and nut,
making sure to scrape off paint to get a good ground,
then screw on a wingnut. But do I need to connect a
wire from the screw on the inside to a circuit board,
and if so which one and where?
Will be giving the rig a thorough test in the next few
days.
