K2 SSB Board Question

Harold D. Johnson Jr.
I just finished installing my new SSB board and have a couple questions.
1) Can I use my HTX-10 mike?
My rig will mute when I hit the PTT but no power out.
I don't know if this is the mike or something wrong with my board.
There is no indication of power or any signal out.
I did the coarse adjust and filter alignment 100% success so I no the controller on the SSB board is communicating.
2)Is there any way to test the board without my mike if it cannot be used?
Does this mike need power?
It is an electret Condenser Type.
I appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Harold Johnson

Harold,

If the mic element is an electret type, yes the mic needs power.  Use a
5600 ohm resistor in most cases.  If the resistor is omitted, behavior
will be as you describe.

You will have to consult the information for the mic plug pinout to
determine which pins the resistor connects across.  If this is to be
your only mic (or all your other mics are similar), add the resistor at
the mic jack pins.
