I have both FIL1 & FIL2 set to OPT1. I adjusted both as described in
the manual. They ended up sounding pretty much the same.
Then I adjusted FL1 to make my voice sound good when transmitting.
While LSB still has a lower pitch than SSB, both sound pretty decent.
However, FIL1 is now much less useful for receiving than FIL2. I'm
assuming that this is normal since FIL1 is always used for
transmitting and should therefore be optimized for transmitting, while
FIL2 can be adjusted for best reception.
This does throw a monkey wrench in the works when using FIL1 set to
OPT1for CW reception.
What do you guys do? Back off on SSB xmit optimization to get good
reception or dedicate FIL1 to SSB xmit and use regular CW filters for
reception?
