K2/SSB with installed K6XX CW Indicator

Hello Elecrafters,

A friend told me that if I install the K6XX CW Indicator in my K2, the display will also blink in SSB mode. My question: Is there a way or a modification which would de-activate the indicator when working in SSB mode?
