Well, now, with the CA qp, over... one can take a breath, and review a bit. I used my new to me K2, ser. number 6661, with dsp, connected to N1MM. (I'm not really fond of the keyer in N1MM, but I do like to have the paddle along side, and usable for extra comments). So... into the fray we go.. spent the majority of the time S&P, tried to get runs going, but that didn't seem to work real well, even tho, S&P was a one call - log it deal. I'm not sure, how much the propagation was improved, but the dsp certainly made a difference. My other K2 has the AF filter, not dsp, and although it is easy/softer on the ears/ to listen to, apparently it doesn't hear quite as well. Although, with my electric fence, the NB is set up better there. So.. a comparison in set up will be done shortly. Wish there is a way to put the dsp and the AF in the same box, and select either or.... To sum it all up, over 200Q score = 29,400 and that was done with a 5 watt limit on tx power, monitored by two wattmeters, and sometimes dropped just for kickes down to 1 watt. Also worked France in the middle of the contest at 5 watts. But didn't put that one in the contest log. Thanks to Elecraft and all who designed and perfected this jewel. It is such a warm feeling to use a radio that performs so well. Thanks everyone, Have a great day, --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
I broke in my brand new K3 running multi single Ventura County, under the call KG6TBR. We all pounded it good and it held up well. Good stuff!
