K2 Signal Tracing

Ken Kirkley-3
I am in section II alignment of my K2. I am not getting a signal from my
antenna jack to the output. I am using Tom Hammond's method of signal
tracing
using the lead of a capacitor attached to a clip that is attached to an
antenna. I have a signal when injected at the following test points;
c143, c141, c53, d6,
and c5. Then at c4 I have a signal on the right hand lead (away from the
board edge), but no signal on the left hand lead (near the board edge).
I have already
replaced c4 with a new 820 capacitor, but still no signal at that point.
Could you point me in the direction that I need to go next?

RE: K2 Signal Tracing

Don Wilhelm-3
Ken,

One leg of C4 is grounded, so you should expect to find no signal injection
at the grounded leg.

It would seem like everything is working up through one half of the bandpass
filter - proceed onward toward the antenna (C6, C7 and on to Jumper W6).
Follow along in the schematic, it will help you see the path for the signal.
You may have to peak the bandpass inductors once you get to the antenna side
of C6 to hear the signal.
