K2-TX and RX frequency not the same

VICKI
Hello All,
My K2 TX frequency is exactly and shown on the LCD, but in order to hear station replying I have to RIT down about 500 Hz. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Re: K2-TX and RX frequency not the same

Mike,

If this is in CW, either you do not have the menu ST P (sidetone pitch)
set to the frequency you prefer for listening, OR you need to re-align
your IF filters (CAL FIL) so the BFOs are centered at the same frequency
you have selected for your sidetone pitch.

If this condition is present in SSB, then the IF filters are the only
answer.  For information on optimizing your K2 filters, you can refer to
my website www.w3fpr.com - look at part 3 of the article on K2 Dial
Calibration (or go through the entire procedure).

You need to re-run CAL BFO. You have probably set the BFO to the wrong
side of the carrier.

Don is of course right, and my memory at fault.  CAL FIL, not CAL BFO.
