K2 Transmit Frequency

Mike Geddes
Greetings Elecrafters.  I wired up a hand mike for my K2 today, and the SSB
signal report was that my transmit frequency was about 100 hz low. Any
suggestions on how to address this.  I have aligned the rig the best I could
during build.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Mike

Mike,

First of all ... who's 100 Hz?  (:-))

The listener's ear?  Was his RIT ... or your XIT ... on and
not quite "zeroed"?

Too many variables to ponder ... and in the end 100 Hz
isn't worth the concern.(:-))

Thank Ken. Probably true not much to worry about.  I did check XIT and it
was not on . . . not sure on his end.  Thanks for the reply and I think I
will not worry too much about it.  I checked CW transmit against other
receivers and it seemed pretty much right on.

RE: K2 Transmit Frequency

Ron D'Eau Claire-2
What I do is operate in split. If that were to happen to me, I'd punch A/B,
increment the VFO 100 Hz in the desired direction, then tap A/B again. That
way my receive tuning would be right on and any other adjustment I might
make in receive wouldn't affect my xmit frequency.

Has anyone been able to get a response from Ken Kopp?  I've tried emailing directly but never have gotten through.  He keeps writing about staying at a Lighthouse in Oregon but never mentions which one.  Does anyone on this list know where he is camped out?
