Folks,
I experienced the K2 tuning anomaly during this weekend's CQWW CW contest, while the bands were loaded with strong signals. I mention "clicks" because that is what some others called this issue in the past, but to me it sounded like tuning across a loud carrier of very narrow bandwidth. I noticed this on 7005, to name one 40 meter frequency, but there were others. It caused my S-meter to peak at about 40 over as I tuned quickly across the blip. I did seem to hear this also on 15 meters. Tonight it is gone, as are all the strong signals, so I would tend to agree with others that this anomaly is related to those strong signals on the 40 meter band. It also goes away when you remove the antenna. I am writing to see what the current thinking is about this anomaly, or to see if there has been further investigation since the earlier "click" postings were made. Is it something K2 users need to live with? My serial number is 3938. I have recently gone through the alignment several times, and am somewhat confident that all is well with alignment and settings. --Ed, N3CW-- ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
I have the same experience, but on 10-15-20, and 40. --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy > From: [hidden email] > To: [hidden email] > Date: Sun, 27 Nov 2011 20:51:25 -0500 > Subject: [Elecraft] K2 Tuning Noise (Clicks?) > > Folks, > I experienced the K2 tuning anomaly during this weekend's CQWW CW > contest, while the bands were loaded with strong signals.
