Dave,
Your best chance is to look carefully at the thermistor board - such
problems usually originate there - it is easy to create a solder bridge on
that small board. You can often spot it by removing the front panel and
control board and peek at the solder side of the board - if not, removal is
the best way to check it, but then you have to solder on new wires to
re-install it.
