I'm writing this in case others run into a similar problem.
I got to the Alignment and Test, Part II and discovered my U6 pin 8
resistance was low (58.3 with >100 ohms required). I visually inspected but
found nothing. I traced around doing resistance checks and found an
unexpectedly low reading on the far side of R15 and the far side (Source
pin) of Q18. This led me to T5 where I discovered pins 1 & 2 shorted to
ground as expected but pins 3 and 4 were also shorted to ground. Loosening
the plastic bolt, my T5 pins 3 & 4 changed to 380 ohms and U6 pin8 went to
300 ohms.
I haven't removed T5 to inspect and probably rebuild it, but I will later
today. I don't think it possible to visually inspect under T5 when it's
assembled, but the trick of following the low R worked ok to find the
problem.
