K2 batteries

Benny Aumala
Simon,
look at www.lipoly.de Daniel Rinninsland in Germany.
I bought a 3 battery set KOK3270 mAh from there.
Size 18 x 61 x 95 mm and weight 205 g.

Corresponding 3 Ah NiMH with 10 cells is
size 18 x 84 x 135 mm and weight 533 g.

I think You would appreciate the low weight.
A bit low voltage is no problem with K2.
But take care in charging: max 12,8 V.

Re: K2 batteries

Simon (HB9DRV)
Thanks, good suggestion. A very useful resource for new batteries.

Yesterday I ordered this:
http://www.rhyner.ch/autolink-artikel.asp?id=1.132.443 very cheap, when
modified good for putting in the rucksack when going up the mountain in the
gondola (I live in a ski resort).

Re: Re: K2 batteries

Simon (HB9DRV)
It arrived today, effectively a 17 AH sealed Lead-Acid battery in a handy
case together with intelligent charger, all for CHF 59 / $ 45 or so. I
removed the air compressor as I don't need that.

Not too heavy - a rucksack, K1 or K2 or IC-703 + Buddipole and I'm off in
the Gondola to 2,200 masl.

Will be out Saturday / Sunday with the IC-703 on 20m and above.
