Has anyone successfully used the iMic USB-Sound device for digital modes (or anything else) with the MS NT4 o/s? I want to move my K2 digital stuff using the Rigblaster Plus interface from my main computer using XP (where the iMic works very well) to a separate computer using NT4. The manufacturer says that it's not supported under NT, but we know the ingenuity of Elecraft users, right? -- 73 de K2ASP - Phil Kane Elecraft K2/100 s/n 5402 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I have to ask why you are needing to use NT? But as to your USB sound card, as long as you can get the hardware vendor to create the drivers for NT, you would be OK. Since the driver model for NT is different from the operating systems that the iMic currently says it supports, getting the device to operate under NT is likely not going to be possible without vendor support for the EOL NT operating system. With devices like sound cards and USB interfaces, it's all about the operating system (usually specific) drivers. The obvious - it's a legitimate copy installed on an existing secondary machine which I use for my other hamming -- packet and APRS -- and I have no desire to buy yet another copy of XP or any other OS or a replacement machine. I have too many in daily service as it is. >But as to your USB sound card, as long as you can get the hardware >vendor to create the drivers for NT, you would be OK. They didn't just say no, they said "he** no". That to me is pretty definite! >With devices like sound cards and USB interfaces, it's all about the >operating system (usually specific) drivers. As I have found out over the years.
