Gosh...I used to be motivated to build new radios. They were each
wonderful and unique in different ways, and the building was tons of fun. But, then came K2 #4442. Now my unbuilt kits are tending to stay that way, and all I ever do is operate - working DX, contests, chatting, etc. - with zero motivation to move on, radio-wise. What's to become of me? Lloyd,
You are suffering from Elecraftitis. Don't worry, it's not fatal, but can be annoying to others, similar to snoring. The symptoms are much as you describe and suffers often are left with a feeling of uphoria and wonderment. Some can even be found wonder aimlessly mumbling "big MOJO, MOJO good'. There is no known cure, but there are lots of equpment manufacturers who are hard at work to find a cure for the afflicted and their sagging sales. Have hope, you are not alone. There are thousands of others suffering from Elecraftitis and lead very normal lives. 'Never in the history of man, have so few done so much with so little.' Elecraft reigns supreme. Hi Lloyd,
We've all had that problem at some time or other. You simply have to find the incentive to move on a little. I suggest that you leave the K2 with a friend or relative for say a month, two months, just how much motivation do you need? The winter season is all but upon us, and what better time to stay indoors, keep warm, "AND BUILD". If you feel the need to get on air, "BUILD", it usually works for me. I wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year, Good Health, and make 2007 a gud un, especially when you know that you will eventually get your beloved K2 back, after you have built something of course!. 72, Jack G3PVG Lloyd Lachow wrote: > Gosh...I used to be motivated to build new radios.
