I thought for sure that my K2 came with the mic jack (#370). It's been so
long I can't remember for sure. I did get some plastic hole plugs for the unused holes on the back panel from a hardware store that snapped in and worked great until I finished filling them all with accessories. Thanks, Ken, but I seek a plug for the hole, not for the jack...my intention is not to install the jack in the first place. LL/K3ESE __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I think I would reconsider that. Even though you don't wish to ever
operate the thing on phone, you just might decide to sell it someday, and having the mic jack installed would probably increase the value. Oh, I'll keep the jack. and it will be the work of five minutes to install in the unlikely event of my ever parting with this rig...I just don't want that alien thing staring me in the face during the thousands of hours I'll spend sitting in front of it. I was just at Lowe's looking for black plugs for the holes in the back panel of a K2. I hate unfilled holes...it looks kind of cheesey to me. They had quite an assortment, but nothing to fit the rear. Might be worth a look for the mic hole. My K2 already has the mic jack installed. I'm looking for one of those protective caps to fit over it. Some might say, that's what the microphone is for. Hi. Look up the Caplugs Co. on Google, and write for some samples of their
plugs, stating the sizes you need. -Stuart K5KVH _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Don't you think a microphone is an awfully expensive way to cover that
unsightly hole in the front of your rig? There must be a better way to seal it from exposure ;) I wish I had not taken the masking off the back panel until I had found which holes were superfluous to my needs. Then I would not have as many avenues for mojo leakage :( Kevin. KD5ONS Prevent Mojo Leakage Crusade!! Try an auto accessory shop for blanking plugs/caps. They come in small packs in the UK with assorted sizes, so probably just as readily available in the USA. Come in handy for various construction projects. Bob, G3VVT _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
