K2, no I/O

Bob Baxter-5
It's been a few years since I've asked for help but I need some now.  I'm unable to get the K2 recognized by any computer program.  So far the voltages have checked close until J2.  Pin 1 is showing 2.3v and should be 0, pin 3 is showing 1v and should be 5v.  J1 voltages are pretty close.  The port is on, first thing I checked.  Any ideas?

Further info on my problem.  The I/O is inop with either the original or the KPA100 plugged in.  I suspect the problem may be on the control board but that gets into ICs and I have no idea what goes on in them.

Re: K2, no I/O

Don Wilhelm-4
Bob,

Do you hear sidetone on that K2 when in CW mode and hold the SPOT button?
If not, you have the wrong sidetone source selected.
Go to the menu for STL and hold EDIT to edit the parameter (if you do
not hear sidetone at this point, it is a sure sign that you have the
wrong source)
Now tap the DISPLAY button until you hear sidetone - exit the menu by
tapping the menu button twice.

If you can hear sidetone *and* you have a K2 with a SN under 3000, check
the wiring between CB U6 pin 25 and pin 1 of P4 to see if that added
wire is still intact.
