Hi Fred,
This is strictly 'Top of head' thinking. Space and control might be a
problem if you wanted to use both SSB and FM, but it might be possible if a
'FM' board (KFM2 ?) could use the space assigned to the KSB2 and SSB not
used. For transmit the necessary RF input / output and audio input
connections appear at J11 for the modulator, possibly a PLL to get the
required deviation, but some fiddling might have to be done with the ALC.
For receive I can think of a couple of options, but I think that I would go
for using a dedicated 'FM Receiver' chip with the IF input to the existing
IF stage switched off during FM reception, and find some way of getting the
FM chip's audio output back into the existing audio circuits, preferably
switched to avoid 'hiss' from the unused IF. Off-hand I cannot think of any
alignment problems that can't be overcome, and there should be enough space
on the board for an IF filter suitable for FM.
I repeat, this is strictly 'Top of head' thinking :-)

Geoff
