K2 parts question

Mike, W9QS
Hello to the group.

This is my first post.  I'm assembling a K2 serial
number 6327.  All is well and I'm working on section 3
of the RF board.  I have a question about Q6.  The
parts list as a number of C2166 but mine is a C5739P.
Is this a direct replacement or do I have the wrong
part.

This is the first problem I've encountered and this
kit is the best by far I've ever built.  (I go back to
the '50s first kit was a Heatkit AT-1)

Mike, W9QS

Re: K2 parts question

Mike,

Go ahead and use the 2SC5739 at Q6.  This is a replacement for the 2SC2166.
The changes to RoHS compliant devices can be blamed for the confusion.

Yes, Mike, this same question was asked a few months ago and it seems
that the 2SC5739 is now being supplied in place of the original 2SC2166
for Q6. It is evidently an improved version. You definitely have the
right part.  Good luck with the rest of the K2. It'll soon be on the
air.

Like many of us on here, Mike. You have evidently caught the Elecraft
bug and there'll be no stopping you with other mojo kits from Elecraft.
