Does any have a switching circuit for a K2 that will activate the relay in an amplifier? My 11-year-old Kenwood is in for a repair, and it may be a while before it's back in the shack. In the meantime, I'm driving an Ameritron ALS-500M solid state amplifier with 7 watts from my K2.
That works well but requires me to key the amp relay (I use a pushbutton on a cord) as I key the K2 with the mic's PTT switch. The voltage on the amp keying line is 10 V DC, and the current when keying the amp is 120 mah. Dave, W6KOW K2 # 5120. Sometime in the six few months I'll build the K2 100-watt internal amp. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Out of curiosity, how much power are you getting with the ALS-500M and
the K2? Larry N8LP [hidden email] wrote: >Does any have a switching circuit for a K2 that will activate the relay in an amplifier? Have you tried the PA Key Out line to your amp??
Or maybe the PA Key Out is only on the KPA100 module and not on the basic K2. de Joe, aa4nn ----- Original Message ----- From: <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 12:24 PM Subject: [Elecraft] K2 relay circuit? You can get a partial kit from Elecraft, called "AMPKEYKIT" which can
be used with an external amplifier 73, Dave G3VGR K2 #4783 [hidden email] wrote: > Does any have a switching circuit for a K2 that will activate the relay in an amplifier? You can order an Amp Keying partial kit from Elecraft for $5 - look for
AMPKEYKIT at the Elecraft order page. The direct link to the circuit and other details is http://www.elecraft.com/Apps/Amp_keying_ckt.htm - no circuit boards are available, but it is easy to buiild on a piece of perfboard. If you want something a bit more recent, go to Tom Hammond's website www.n0ss.net and look about 3/4 of the way down the page for 'K2 (BASIC) External T-R Relay Driver'. The KPA100 does have the Amp Keying for an external linear built into it. 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > Does any have a switching circuit for a K2 that will activate the > relay in an amplifier? AMPKEYKIT is only a few components.
With luck it will be replaced SOON (Hint: Eric) by a real PC board and all components, including a set of INSTRUCTIONS. Elecraft has all the info (PC board layout and draft instructions, but has been too busy thru the Xmas season to move on it. Until that time, I can supply PC boards ($6 ppd to your US mailbox), and components are available from Mouser for a small cost. Shipping costs more than parts. Docs (PDF) upon request. 73, Tom Hammond N0SS At 11:48 AM 1/9/2006, Dave G3VGR wrote: >You can get a partial kit from Elecraft, called "AMPKEYKIT" which >can be used with an external amplifier >73, Dave G3VGR >K2 #4783 > >[hidden email] wrote: >>Does any have a switching circuit for a K2 that will activate the >>relay in an amplifier?
