It's all buttoned up after completing the transmitter alignment: QRP CW K2 with 160m module, internal battery, and the KDSP2 module.
I've got it set up for 400 Hz pitch, with XFIL's at 700, 400, 300, and 150 Hz nominal bandwidths, with BFO frequencies initially set as suggested by Don, W3FPR. Will do more filter alignment with Spectrogram when I find out how to get sound into my computer (the mic input does not seem to work).
The DSP works wonderfully, with NR set at default and AFIL's centered on the 400 Hz pitch. I'm comparing the K2 with my Omni 6, Option 1 with its internal DSP NR, cascaded 250 Hz filters preceded by the INRAD 600 Hz CW roofing filter, augmented by an MFJ 784B DSP audio filter with additional NR. The K2 is at least as effective as the Omni 6 and MFJ combo! Hard to believe, but A/B testing this morning on 80 meters showed at least as good copy on KH8Q with the K2. (I eventually worked the KH8 with the Omni and 800 watt amp, but I kept wanting to go back to the K2 for receive.)
Future modules will include the KIO2 and possibly the KNB2 and 100 watt amp., but no SSB.
Thanks to you good folks on this reflector, especially W3FPR and N0SS; also those who e-mailed me to offer suggestions or simply to cheer me on in this building project.
