>>I found out the my K2 # 2200 (with all mods) shortens the CW characters by about 20% when a external keyer (K12 by K1EL) is used. This effect is not noticeable with the build in keyer of the K2.

I find this problem only with the K1EL keyer, and only when using a paddle to key the K2 via WinKey (i.e., not when using the computer to send exchanges during a contest). Other external keyers, such as the Idiom Press Logikit CMOS-4, are fine. Therefore, one concludes that it is the K1EL keyer, not the K2, shortening the characters.
The easy solution is to set KComp (in the WinKey testbed program) to a value of 2, which lengthens both dots and dashes slightly. That slight adjustment makes the CW sound perfect again.
