K2 sn 5707 in progress. Quick question

Bernie Gardner
I've had my K2 kit for a few days and am about finished with the front panel.
Before proceeding I have a couple of concerns.

1)  As instructed, I did not remove the covering from either side of the
diffuser backlight panel.  However, I notice that it appears to have
separated during assembly.  There is a thin film bowed away from the panel.
It's not clear what I can do about this, or if it is a serious problem.

2) In the reistance checks, everything seemed correct except for U1:pins 1&2
and J1 Pins 16&17.  The manual states these should be 25k-40k, but I get
about 22.5k for all of them.  This is close, but is it a problem that the
readings are not in the specified range?

Thanks for any help!

Bernie Gardner

RE: K2 sn 5707 in progress. Quick question

Don Wilhelm-3
Bernie,

The diffuser will do its job (spread light) even with the material bowed -
do nothing to correct it, it is not broken.

The resistance readings at J1 pins 16 and 17 should be the same as that
measured at U1 pins 2 and 1 (the signals are the same, and these points ar
connected).  Re-measure and if you find a discrepancy, re-check your
soldering or measure some resistors to verify that your DMM is reading
correctly (you may want to replace the DMM batteries before drawing any
conclusions).
