K2

David Holton
Chasing some advice.

K2 problem,   " touchy "  power control pot.

Removed Front panel and carried out resistance checks of U1 and J1 as per
the manual.

U1 checks out OK.

J1 reads,

Pins 1 to 4 should read  > 1M  I read open circuit, no reading at all, on a
Fluke 87

Pin 5                     "               > 1M  I read 29.56K

Pin 6                     "               > 50K I read  2.26M

Pin 7                     "               > 1M  I read  open circuit
"

Pin 8                     "                   GND I read GND

Pin 9                     "               > 50K  I read open circuit
"

Pin 10                   "               > 50K  I read 5.3M

Pin11                    "               > 50K  I read open circuit
"

Pin 12 to 14        "               > 50K  I read 6.96, 2.7, and 6.96MPins

Pin 15 to 20        "                All read in the middle of their
respective values and 20 is GND.

Any ideas please.

Regards

David

David,

">" means "greater than" and infinity (very large value) may equal "open
circuit".
That means the only potential problems you have is with J1 pin 5 which
should be greater than 1 meg and you are reading 29.56k.  Look for
solder bridges between pins over the entire board.
