K2 warping

Dan Grizzard
I just hate the new Verizon email format. Here I go again!

My K2 has developed a warping issue. Recently completed and finally totally assembled the unit does not set flat on the desk or stand. It wobbles. I have loosened the 3d connector screws, set heavy books on the rig on a marble top table and then re-tightened the screws. The rig then sits flat with no wobble. The next morning the warp is back. Has anyone had this issue?
Thanks in advance for your input.

It's tough to get a 4-legged anything to sit absolutely flat.  If you want
stable, just ditch the rear feet and put a single rear foot at the rear
center, leaving the two front feet (or tilt bail) as-is.  Tripod is stable.

Both my K2 (long gone) and my K3 had this issue. I finally just wrapped
about 2 turns of vinyl tape around the little rubber bumper on the right
side of the tilt-up bail, experimenting with the amount until everyone
was happy. My K3 was a factory-assembled unit, and the wobble was NOT
because the desktop was bowed. Like Dan, I am using a hard, planar table
top. No biggie...

Re: K2 warping

All you need to do to have it sit flat is to move one of the rubber
bumpers on the bail to whichever side makes it sit best.  I had this
problem and it was solved in a matter of moments after few iterations of
this technique.
