Paul:
By "trips the amp" do you mean that the TR relay on the amp
does not engage when you tune with the TUNE button (Press
and hold)?
How are you feeding your amp/radio PTT? Do you use a
footswitch? Do you have a Microkeyer? Are you running the
footswitch to the microkeyer or to the radio? Is the amp is
being keyed from the KEY OUT RCA socket on the K3 or from
the microkeyer PA OUT RCA socket?

Hi Everyone,
I omitted in my original post that my manual antenna tuner
meter shows the
15 watts when pressing the K3's XMIT/Tune button though the
amp does not
respond.
"I have my Ameritron AL-811 (600 watts) amp connected to
this K3/100. I
find that the K3 Tune command (XMIT/Tune button set @ 15
watts) does not
trip
the amplifier for tune up purposes though PTT trips it
when I push it on
the mic."
Thanks again,
73
