Hello all,
I use a k3 equipped module 144. I can observe when a signal is present on the QRO 28MHz is also heard on 144MHz. This is it normal or transceiver is failing. Hello,
I could notice that the RF isolation between TX antenna ports and RX antenna ports is not great. For example, a S9+ level on main antenna will be clearly present when you are using RX ANT. If you have something connected to ANT2 or RX ANT, this might well be the case. 73, Felipe Ceglia - PY1NB ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PR1T team member /// Rio DX Group member /// Araucaria DX Group member http://dxwatch.com /// http://reversebeacon.net /// http://riodxgroup.com On Tue, Jul 17, 2012 at 1:46 AM, F4AAG <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hello all, > I use a k3 equipped module 144. Eric,
unfortunately this is normal due to low isolation between HF and TRV ports in the K3. :-( Only way to cure it is disconnect HF antenna when using the internal 2 m transverter (or use a relay to switch it off externally instead of completely disconnecting it). 73, Olli - DH8BQA ----- Original Message ----- From: "F4AAG" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2012 6:46 AM Subject: [Elecraft] K3. 28MHz listen on 144MHz > Hello all, > I use a k3 equipped module 144. to highlight the lack insulation between the connectors HF and VHF, I
injected into the HF input a level of-70dBm. The carrier was then heard on 2 meters with a level S2. I am surprised that the insulation is not better on the K3. DH8BQA proposed disconnect the HF input when using the VHF band, which must be very efficient but not very practical. Has anybody there another solution. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
