Hello All, I was updating my K3/100 with MCU 4.03 / DSP 2.60 when It stop and reported a failure with the update...The screen on the K3 reads MCU L D and the TX redlight is blinking. The K3 Utility reads the time and after the time It reads(sent ";" at 38400 bps) I tried to and reload the K3 Utility and the Win2K/XP/2000/Vista/Win7 (32 and 64 bits) Driver for the USB/Serial cable...No Luck ! ! ! How would I reset the K3 to get out of the MCU L D on the screen ?
Thanks for any Help ! ! ! Antnee N3ANT K3/100 #2913 |
Remove K3 power by pulling the power plug. Wait about 30 seconds. Shut down the K3 Utility. Plug the radio back in, and turn it on with the power button. Then start the K3 Utility again and load firmware

I got a call from Dale....A tech from Elecraft We did some test on the K3 and found out that a chip (U1) on the K103A board went bad and am sending It back for repair....... It might have been zapped In a lighting storm when I forgot to unhook the K3 ? Antee,
I had the same thing happen to my original K3 a while back. The awesome tech support at Elecraft walked through it with me and had a replacement board KIO3 board shipped out and in my hands in a day or two. I am quite certain that this will solve your issue as well. Good luck, Mike N8XPQ |
