Working the WPX contest this weekend, I tried using the Shift when the DSP
filter was as narrow as 50-100 Hz for some very weak contacts due to QRM. K3 performed beautifully on CW I might add, but I think the shift adjustment in 50 Hz increments is too large. I would often lose the station I was trying to work. I would have perferred something smaller even as low as 10 Hz. Is it just me, or is this something that can be menu adjusted in the future. I think this would only be needed in CW/Digital modes. Hi Roland,
I suppose this functionality is in relation with what is called "DSP control granularity" and what was mentioned by Wayne some time before in reaction to 10Hz step in PITCH adjustament and PITCH min/max frq requests. So I suppose it is tied together and was declared that after some more critical jobs there is some hope to generally change "DSP control granularity" to 10Hz. 73! Maybe the shift increment should change automatically, so it is always significantly less than the bandwidth. -- 73 from Ian GM3SEK http://www.ifwtech.co.uk/g3sek _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Yes, my experience also. 50 Hz steps are too much
at the narrower DSP filter settings. 10 Hz would be good and BW less than 200 Hz. 73, Bob N6WG ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roland Guidry" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 4:30 AM Subject: [Elecraft] K3 - 50 Hz Shift > Working the WPX contest this weekend, I tried using the Shift when the DSP > filter was as narrow as 50-100 Hz for some very weak contacts due to QRM.
