Congrats on the new rig, very nice....
As one of the growing number in the UK who now has a special permit for 501-504kHz... I see that with the general coverage filters the K3 tunes down to 500kHz. Presumably at the moment there is no possibility of full transceive. But I was wondering what the receive performance is like. Does it like quite a few of the Japanese rigs have an attenuator automatically switched in between 500kHz and 1.6MHz to reduce blocking from medium wave broadcast signals (I guess not, with those IMP figures though..)? With quite a few countries talking about allowing operation down there it may well become a real band in the lifetime of the K3! Does the standard K3 include 60m transceive (or maybe it is limited to the USA channels?). 73 Dave G3YMC http://www.davesergeant.com _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hi Dave,
The K3 includes 60 meters. Operation down to 500 kHz does present challenges. We'll post performance numbers for the low range when we have them. At present there would be no way to transmit below 1.8 MHz. However, it is possible that we could provide a special band-pass filter array, since the the KBPF3 is a plug-in module. I've added this to the future features discussion list ;) tnx Wayne N6KR On Apr 29, 2007, at 11:04 AM, Dave Sergeant wrote: > Congrats on the new rig, very nice.... > > As one of the growing number in the UK who now has a special permit > for 501-504kHz... > > I see that with the general coverage filters the K3 tunes down to > 500kHz.
