After weeks of rain and wind the sun finally appeared in the mountains of Snowdonia today - and so did K3 000145, courtesy of UPS Express...!
Original order placed on May 2nd, emailed invoice (47492) received from Aptos on December 3rd, UPS Shipping Notification received December 6th and the box delivered on the scheduled date (today).
UPS Express without a hitch. No import duty demands (didn't expect any..) just a request for a cheque for 210 ukp for VAT and 'brokerage charges' which took about 3 minutes; like a visit to the dentist you want this sort of thing over and done with as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Now to finish unpacking though it may be interrupted when I sneak off to take advantage of the superb afternoon conditions on 20m to the mountain/desert states of the western US we've been having the last week or so. Can't let the arrival of a K3 kit interfere with ham radio now can we...?
