I want to thank everyone who helped me with ideas on how to improve my AM
audio. I was running only 35/40 percent modulation with a strong carrier, using official version 3.14 s/w. Hector, AD4C was kind enough to help me install 3.38 last night with a file he sent me. Today on AM, everyone said, Goodness, what did you do? You're 100% modulated , very strong and the audio is absolutely outstanding. WOW! Wish I were more technical but I truly love this radio, after 61 years a ham and owning everything. What is K3's AM transmit audio bandwidth? For AM receive, I get amazing AM receive audio using LP-Pan plus Winrad or Power-SDR. 73, Barry N1EU |
Barry,if you have the 6Khz roofer installed and enable the TX ESSB to 3Khz trough the config and also use the 8 bands EQ properly to EQ your mic,you will have an awsome 100% modulated AM station with 6Khz bandwith and you will be receiving unsolicited good reports from the old timers using old AM gear. Some of them will ask you which old radio you are using because they won't believe that a low level modulation radio sound so good.
