K3 ATU BYPASS

I have checked the manual and archives before asking this question;  is the
ATU out of circuit when the BYP is enabled, or are the last settings for
lowest SWR left in?

Neither. It's set to compensate for internal stray reactances for the best match to a
50-ohm load.
