No. What is required is the sub receiver and a separate antenna feeding
that. By definition diversity uses two different antennas, feeding
independent receivers. The KRX3 comes with a cable that provides for a
separate BNC input to the sub RX. The K3 ATU is not required for this.

In diversity, one usually uses a horizontally polarized antenna and a
vertically polarized one. As the incoming signal experiences polarity shifts
as it travels to the receiver, the signal rises and falls at different times
in each receiver. I have found that one can get useful "fills" using two
horizontal antennas, arranged at somewhat different heights and orientations
as well.
