K3 Amtor receiver recovery times - update

Dave, G4AON
Further tests show data modes are faster with a recovery in 22 mS but
followed by a complete shut off around 40 mS before recovering fully
beyond 50 mS. The behaviour on SSB was much slower. Is this something to
do with AGC overshoot?

Was the NR on? That can take a long time to settle down.

Re: K3 Amtor receiver recovery times - update

I can send you some shots from my oscilloscope.  With either the 2.7 kHz
or 2.8 kHz SSB filter (I tested both), in SSB mode, from release of PTT
I measure ~22 ms to audio. There is a possible spike or other amplitude
perturbation at about 38 ms and lasts for about 2 ms, then things are
steady from 40 ms on out.

This is with a sign gen attached and pumping in a reasonable signal (S5
to S9, didn't write it down).
