I was using the K3 with a CW decoding program to try and copy some of the people transmitting at 40 WPM at the lower end of 80m tonight. I had the spectrum view active and I noticed with the CW filter tuned to 600Hz with 150Hz bandwidth I could also see a spurious signal at 1800Hz and a weaker one at 1200Hz. I.e. the harmonics. Further investigation with spectrum lab showed the 1800Hz harmonic was only 50 dB down.
This was using the line out. The speaker out and phones out did not show this effect, with the harmonics being only just visible at least 80 dB down. I have line out set to a low setting, only 10.
What am I doing wrong?
