K3 -> Aux I/O to W9XT BCD-10 Band Decoder

Eric Rosenberg
I need to take the band decoder output of the K3 into a Unified
Microsystems (W9XT) BCD-10 Band Decoder / Antenna Selector.

I'm not sire which of the K3 four outputs go to the BCD-10's four inputs.

Any help is appreciated!

Re: K3 -> Aux I/O to W9XT BCD-10 Band Decoder

Eric Rosenberg
Thanks to all who responded!

Next Question:

I need a "Y" cable from that ACC I/O Port:  DB-15M to TWO DB-15F.  The
ones I've seen are all VGA splitters and missing PIN 9, which is the
BAND 2 output.

Does anyone know of a source of a splitter than has Pin 9 installed? (I
need pins 3,9,13 and 14)

Thanks,

Eric W3DQ

Eric,

As suggested before, the reflector archives are your friend:

BTW, I got a couple that are marked "Philmore," a common brand in parts
stores, and they seem to ohm out properly- all connections made and
nothing cross-connected.  I wouldn't buy anything without return
privileges, though.

Re: K3 -> Aux I/O to W9XT BCD-10 Band Decoder

Ed Muns, W0YK
Philmore part number 70-568 has 100% integrity between all 15 pins.  This is
the item that Altex Computers in Texas sells, per N6XI's posting that W4TV
linked below.  All the others that several of us have checked have a number
of unconnected pins and some also have multiple-connected pins.  In the
typical VGA application, this is fine, but not for this K3 application.

THANKS: K3 -> Aux I/O to W9XT BCD-10 Band Decoder

Eric Rosenberg
Thanks to all for your help.

I've gone with Ed Muns' recommendation:

    Philmore part number 70-568 has 100% integrity between all 15 pins.
    This is the item that Altex Computers in Texas sells, per N6XI's
    posting that W4TV  linked below. All the others that several of us
    have checked have a number of unconnected pins and some also have
    multiple-connected pins. In the typical VGA application, this is
    fine, but not for this K3 application.

and reiterate Joe Subich's comment:

    As suggested before, the reflector archives are your friend:

     http://mailman.qth.net/pipermail/elecraft/2009-May/111149.html

Thanks again to all!
