Just curious: is anyone using the KBPF3 (general coverage receive module) in BOTH main and sub-receivers for diversity reception?

What we really need for SWBC (and ham AM) is the long promised and as
yet undelivered SAM detector. Perhaps if enough people ask for it it will eventually make it to the lower priority feature list applicable to the non-contest user group. I'm getting a bit concerned that the next version of the manual will just delete all references and make it go away. I haven't heard any rumors about it being a part of the coming firmware update ... so I guess it is still just in the dregs at the bottom of the bucket :-( Grant/NQ5T On Aug 2, 2009, at 1:48 PM, N5GE wrote: > Michael M. May I add a tiny voice in support of synchronous AM detection, too.
I prefer to listen to a new BC station while I'm building stuff and SAM would improve the experience. Does anyone receive/listen to DRM (digital radio mondiale? 73 Dave Lankshear, G3TJP ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Before we get synchronous AM receive we need the ability to transmit AM and ESSB using the FM (13 KHz) filter. That would avoid the need to tie up two slots with both the FM (13 KHz) and AM (6 KHz) filters. I've checked both AM transmit through the 13 KHz filter (calling in 6 KHz in the filter configuration) using the SDR-IQ as a spectrum analyzer and receive (with AGC off) 30 KHz away from a 50 KW (daytime) AM station only two miles from me and there are no detectable transmit or receive image issues. 73, ... David,
My Perseus SDR has both SAM and DRM capability, but I have not tried ( keep forgeting) to listen to a station using DRM. Its SAM works well. If of any use to you, I can try the DRM feature when my Perseus is not tied up doing something else, and report back later. 73, Geoff GM4ESD ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Lankshear" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 8:55 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 BC Reception > May I add a tiny voice in support of synchronous AM detection, too. > > I prefer to listen to a new BC station while I'm building stuff and SAM > would improve the experience. > > Does anyone receive/listen to DRM (digital radio mondiale? > > 73 Dave Lankshear, G3TJP ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I don't share your view, but then that's part of the problem -- we
have 3000+ guys with all different sets of priorities, all trying to do what we can to get OUR priorities taken care of ...
