K3 beta-test firmware revision 1.96 is now available. As with other
beta releases, we encourage you to load it, but if you'd rather see how things go for everyone else, *then* load it, we'll understand. Please send any problem reports to [hidden email]. For release notes and instructions on how to load beta firmware, please see: http://www.elecraft.com/K3/k3_software.htm The instructions (linked from within the release notes) explain how to create a separate folder for the beta revision. This will allow you to easily revert to an older revision if you find it necessary. If you had previously loaded revision 1.94, please use a separate folder for 1.96. Release notes also appear below. These reflect the changes since the last beta release, 1.94. 73, Wayne N6KR * * * MCU 1.96, 5-14-08 * NEW VFO COARSE TUNING RATES: FM, 10 kHz; CW, 0.1 kHz; SSB, 0.1 kHz. * SQUELCH ASSIGNED TO SUB RF/SQL control now persists across a power cycle. (See CONFIG:SQ MAIN; set it to “=SUB POT”.) * XVn ON menu entry, when assigned to a programmable function switch, will will now alternate between YES and NO. All other 2-valued menu entries should now work correctly as programmable functions, too. * Flash and EEPROM memory reads and writes are now verified, to ensure reliability of parameter storage. This includes PLL data tables, frequency memories, etc. --- http://www.elecraft.com _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. As it worked until now, the radio restored the settings from the last controlled power down... 73 de Björn /SM0MDG _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. When is this F/W due for non-Beta release?

When we're satisified that it is good enough, it will move to the production release file area. This type of move is not a date driven target, but a performance and reliability driven target. 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
